About SAROJ

The purpose of the Grant is to support the Research Institute for Artificial Intelligence "Mihai Drăgănescu" (the Grantee) in development of the software anonymisation tool for the judiciary of Romania. The anonymisation tool developed under this grant will lead to the full automation of the anonymisation of judicial decisions in Romania. This will result in improved protection of personal data in judicial decisions, more efficient publication of decisions leading to greater transparency of the Romanian judiciary and improved access to justice. The Superior Council of Magistracy (SCM) , as the owner of the case law database of all judicial decisions in Romania, is the final beneficiary of the anonymisation tool that will be developed as the result of this Action. The resulting anonymization mechanism will be used within the jurisprudence portal rejust.ro
